How Building The Home Inc. Got Started

Francisco García started in construction in 2003, learning the trade the way most real builders do — piece by piece. Siding on one job, framing on the next, foundations after that, trim work in between. Not a single specialty learned once and repeated for a career, but the kind of range that comes from actually doing the different parts of a house, not just overseeing them.

In 2019, that experience became Building The Home Inc. Starting his own company meant building homes the way he'd actually want them built — with the person doing the work being the same person you can call with a question, not a name on a truck for a crew you've never met.

Francisco still frames every new home and addition himself. Not because there's no one else who could do it, but because framing is the part of a house that determines whether everything built on top of it actually holds up — and it's not a step he's willing to hand off. That same hands-on approach carries through everything we build now, from a full custom home to a single deck or remodel, throughout Spruce Pine and the North Carolina High Country.
